Ordinary people strive in life to fulfil their dreams but extraordinary people strive in life to help others fulfil their dreams. One of such extraordinary people who have graced the sands of time is Mrs Christina Anansiwa Hackman, the late mother of Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, the CEO of H4P Organization.
The Christina Hackman Impact Leadership Awards (C.H.I.L. Awards) is an award scheme instituted by the H4P Organization to honour and acknowledge the people who contribute significantly towards the development of the disability community and also towards national development.
The C.H.I.L. Awards is named after the late mother of the Chief Executive Officer of the H4P organization, Mrs Christina Anansiwa Hackman, for her meritorious and impactful service to humanity, especially, persons with disability.
Mrs Christina Anansiwa Hackman was known and revered for her passion, interest and impact on the welfare of others, especially that of the disability community in Ghana.
Mrs Christina Hackman was loving, selfless, and kind hearted to all. She believed that kindness was a language that the deaf can hear, the blind can see and the intellectually disabled can understand. She demonstrated this belief in her exhibition of extreme passion for the development of the disability community by being the greatest supporter, contributor, motivator, and cheer-leader of the H4P Organization’s Special Advocacy for Persons with Disability.
Without a shadow of doubt, it is very appropriate and befitting to name such a prestigious award after Mrs Christina Hackman because she played very significant roles in the birthing, planning and executing of H4P projects like:
The Helping Hand TV Show
The Helping Hand Community Project
The H4P Melo-Drama Concerts
H4P Christmas Parties for Special Children and Families
H4P National Inter-Schools Disability Fun Games
H4P Career Guidance and Counselling Program for Special Education Schools
The H4P Ability Praise Concert
Mrs Christina Hackman is indeed deserving of these prestigious awards being named after her. Mrs Christina Anansiwa Hackman’s legacy is indeed commendable, creditable, laudable and invaluable, and so she will be remembered forever!
Mrs Christina Anansiwa Hackman believed that disability is not inability and so she worked hard to see the creation of equal opportunities and suitable facilities for persons with disability to enable them contribute their quota towards national development, whether to a great or small extent.
The Christina Hackman Impact Leadership Awards is therefore aimed at inspiring and motivating others, especially persons with disability, to contribute their abilities to better the society, in spite of the disability.
The official launch of the CHIL AWARDS took place on Saturday, 4th February, 2023, during the 2023 edition of the H4P-Ability Praise Concert. During the launch, the H4P Organization awarded the CHIL Honorary Award to Madam Emma Lilian Bruce-Lyle for her outstanding contributions towards the development of the Disability Community in Ghana for over two (2) decades.
